Remove the cartridge from the printer and switch the machine off. Leave it powered down for 10 to 15 minutes so it fully shuts down and clears any stored chip data.
Turn the printer back on and allow it to fully start up. Reinstall the cartridge, making sure it clicks firmly into place. This often restores communication between the cartridge chip and the printer.
If the issue continues, it is likely caused by a firmware update that no longer recognises the cartridge chip.
